ONE of the largest independent providers of affordable housing in the South West has announced plans for major changes.

Knightstone Housing is to build a new centralised headquarters in Weston-super-Mare, which will replace its existing six offices.

It is to focus its services on a more concentrated geographic area, covering nine local authorities in the West of England and Somerset.

Talks are currently being held with other housing associations with a view to a "stock swap" which sees Knightstone Housing transferring most of its housing stock in Wiltshire and Swindon to another association by April 2012, and its …
