FilmDistrict scores trio.(Brief article)

FilmDistrict has made a splash at Cannes, announcing three acquisitions as well as a date and title for Angelina Jolie's directing debut, "In the Land of Blood and Honey."

Pic will go out Dec. 23, starring Zana Marjanovic, Goran Kostic and Rade Serbedzija in the tale of a Bosnian woman who falls for a Serbian man on the eve of the war between the former Yugoslavian countries.

FilmDistrict announced the news Sunday, adding that it also closed a deal with Endgame Entertainment for the theatrical release of helmer-scribe Rian Johnson's time-travel actioner "Looper," starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis and Emily Blunt.
