JOHOR BARU: The state Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Department has destroyed fake goods worth over RM1.5 million at the department's exhibit store, here yesterday.

Among the items were bags, clothes, footwear and women's accessories with labels of popular and established brands.

The goods were seized from separate premises in Taman Bukit Indah during an operation in May last year.

Its deputy director Abdul Hamid Abu Bakar said all the goods were confirmed to be fake after checks by agents of the brand owners.
