THE government wants the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to check on malpractices in local football clubs and associations even as the FA of Malaysia (FAM) insists the domestic game is clean.

Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek said authorities, including FAM must get to the bottom of the issue after the Negri Sembilan FA lodged a police report against its President's Cup Under-21 team on Thursday.

"FAM and MACC must look at the source for if there is a tail, there is surely a head and we must find out who this head is as there is no point to just hold on to one end.
