Workers in Western Visayas get P12 temporary allowance.

ILOILO CITY - The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) of Western Visayas has approved a P12 Emergency Cost of Living Allowance to be added to the current daily minimum wage of select private- sector workers in the region.

Nesa S. Nolido, RTWPB secretary, said in a phone interview yesterday that the amount was approved in a 4-2 vote during deliberations last Wednesday.

Ms. Nolido said the allowance will be implemented for only three months - and only for commercial and industrial workers - starting 15 days after the wage order is published in a local newspaper.
