Napieralski: SLD Sees More Than Government Does.

The Civic Platform (PO) - Polish People's Party (PSL) coalition has adopted the government proposal of changes in the pension system. The ruling majority was so attacked to its project, it rejected a public hearing, as well as all the amendments prepared by the opposition.

The document adopted at an astonishing pace decides about around PLN30bn annually. This amount is five times what Poland spends on education and science, and similar to spending on the army or the healthcare sector. The president signed the document instantly. Napieralski believes Bronislaw Komorowski had no choice, as the government allowed a situation, in which the public debt is growing fast. This means the president either had to sign the bill, or take blame for the public debt approaching the warning threshold.
