Mr. Frank K. Doyi, the Growth and Activism Support Co-ordinator of the Ghana Branch of Amnesty International (AI) has urged the government of Ghana to do away with the Capital Punishment from the statute books of the country.

He said so far, three West African countries, Togo, Senegal and Cote D'Ivoire, have abolished the Death Penalty and Ghana's democratic credentials would be improved if she did same.

"The Death Penalty to us is outmoded as far as human rights are concerned. It is on record that countries like the USA that maintains this heinous law on her books still leads in crime rate in the whole world so, what is the use?" he asked. He said no has the right …
