AIMST students display good social conscience.

WHEN Padang, Indonesia, was hit by an earthquake in Dec 2009, AIMST University was one of the first few academic institutions that helped raise funds for the victims there.

Its fundraising committee and medical students from the university organised the Padang Earthquake Relief charity night and raised RM5,643.40, from ticket sales and contributions.

AIMST has continued its tradition of helping disaster victims.

Recently, the university handed over a banker's cheque to the Buddhist Tzu Chi Merits Society Malaysia.

AIMST chief executive and vice-chancellor Prof Frederick Charles Smales presented the cheque to Tzu Chi representative, Ooi Ci Qin. …
