Nigerian police say bomb blast claims two lives in Borno State.

The spate of bomb blasts in Maiduguri and its environs in Borno State continued at the weekend, resulting in the death of two persons.

Reportedly planted by suspected Islamists sect members, the explosion ripped apart two men in the London Chiki ward of the metropolis, when it exploded at about 8pm on Friday near a bus stop, two kilometres away from the Gwange police barracks.

Police have confirmed the bombing.

Meanwhile, in neighbouring Yobe State, an auto crash kills 18 persons, and injuring 11 passengers on the Kano-Potiskum road.
