ONE of the North-east's most famous streets is in need of drastic measures to bring back the glory days, a new survey has claimed.

The city's Union Street was once one of the most famous stretches of shopping in the country.

Once home to a range of prestigious retailers, the city's main thoroughfare now has several gaping holes on its shopping landscape.

And today retail expert Andrew Turnbull said the time had come to consider 'drastic measures' to keep Union Street alive.
