Death is dreaded, because it is the end of life and the beginning of the afterlife and it is the line that separates deed and reward. God Almighty tells us that man is held to account from the moment his soul is taken away, and that whoever does good in his life, will be rewarded for his good deeds, He says, "(Namely) those whose lives the angels take in a state of purity, saying (to them), 'Peace be on you; enter ye the Garden, because of (the good) which ye did (in the world) [Sura Al-Nahl, Verse 32]." As for whoever causes harm to himself, his faith, and the people, God is the One to punish him, He says: "(Namely) those whose lives the angels take in a state of wrong-doing to their own souls." Then would they offer submission (with the pretense), 'We did no evil (knowingly).' (The angels will reply), 'Nay, but verily Allah knoweth all that ye did; so enter the …
