Hungary has embarked on a development spree of its hotel and meetings space to meet expected demand.
While the Hungarian Convention Bureau is keen to improve Hungary's green reputation, the country is boosting its overall C&I offer to meet expected demand. Eight properties are to be built in Budapest in 2011 and 2012, while three new hotels are planned for Pecs, and 14 across the rest of Hungary.
International brands are among those opening new properties. There will be the five-star Hilton Visegrad at the end of this year with 211 rooms and Myhotel's three-star Hotel Maria Valeria, with 154 rooms and conference capacity for 300, in Esztergom later this year. New …
