HAVING PLAYED football in high school, I thought joining the field work at The Younghusband Football Academy would be a piece of cake. Boy, was I wrong.

After years with no proper exercise, it was no surprise that I wasnt a well-oiled machine anymore. As I was only planning to do the interview, I came unpreparedin jeans, a silk button-down shirt and ballet flatsand lacking all the necessary accoutrements: shin guards, cleats, and ankle support. But I decided to give it a go, so I kicked off my flats, tossed my sunnies, and told myself, Let the games begin.
