Court rejects case on music royalties Business Affairs Editor MUSICIANS were left in the dark this week after the high court dismissed an application by their representative society seeking clarity on whether advances were subject to the National Credit Act or not. The Gauteng North High Court yesterday dismissed the Southern African Music Rights Organisation's (Samro's) bid for a ruling on advances made against future royalty payments, faulting it for failing to provide & essential& evidence to support the points it made and questioning why it was not joined in the application by members who were disadvantaged by the act.
