Section: General News - Egypt's public prosecutor Councillor Abdel Meguid Mahmoud extended for 15 days the detention of Gamal and Alaa Mubarak, the sons of recently deposed president Hosni Mubarak, Egyptian media reported on Tuesday.

Both are currently in Torah prison, in a suburb of Cairo, over allegations of corruption and violence against protesters.

Hosni Mubarak, 82, is being investigated over the deaths of hundreds of protesters during the 18-day popular uprising that forced him out from power in February.
