JOSEPH Ikong and his troops scooped the sh2m grand prize after thumping Team Ben Komakech 70-49 in the final of the preseason basketball bonanza that is the Friday Night Lights (FNL).

Ikong, though, may have to pass up his share of the collective winners prize since he claimed a separate sh3m for taking the tournament MVP award, slum dunk competition as well top the scorers.

However, the real value of this event went beyond its prizes and entertainment. What FNL really achieved was laying down an indirect challenge for sport governing body FUBA.
