Mao Transferred to Nakasongola At Dawn.

DP president Norbert Mao and six others charged with allegedly assaulting a police officer and inciting violence were in the wee hours of Thursday transferred to Nakasongola Prison.

Sources told Daily Monitor an attempt to spirit them out of Luzira Prison in the night was abandoned after the politicians refused, suspecting mischief.

"By 8am, Mr Mao was already in Nakasongola Prison. We transferred Mr Mao and six other DP members because DP youth wingers had threatened to storm Luzira. We did not want commotion there, hence transferring him to a less congested prison with only 3,000 inmates," Prisons spokesman Frank …
