Although President Museveni has taken a hardline stand against having dialogue with the opposition, a top ruling party official has secretly written to them asking for talks to resolve the walk-to-work campaign.
In a letter addressed to Inter-Party Cooperation president John Ken Lukyamuzi on Tuesday, NRM's vice chairman for eastern Uganda Mike Mukula, sought audience with members of Activists for Change (A4C) for a "peaceful way forward in addressing the issues underlying this standoff".
