Truckers want to hike fuel surcharges.

TRUCKERS are planning to hike fuel surcharges following weeks of pump price increases, a development which could spur businesses to pass on the added cost to consumers.

"We have not yet implemented higher fuel surcharges but there will be increases. We will be meeting on that soon," Chamber of Truckers' Associations of the Philippines Chairman Rodolfo T. de Ocampo told BusinessWorld yesterday.

He declined to be more specific but said truckers tack on a fuel surcharge - depending on the delivery distance - to a basic fee.
