Section: Business News - Giant sugar producer, the Mitr Phol Group, believes that information technology can enhance the productivity of Thailand's sugar-cane industry, The Nation reports.

Proving the group's faith in Web-based technology, its subsidiaryUnited Farmer & Industry has developed what it calls the Cane Smile Information and Management System (SIMS).
