David Opati, one of the top players in Kenya's line-up for this year's Africa Zone Six Championship, is out of the tournament which gets under way at Nyali Golf and Country Club on Tuesday.
Opati, from Golf Park, suffered a fracture on his right hand and was on Monday ordered by his doctor to keep away from golf for the next 12 weeks.
"I started having this problem during the Muthaiga Open early this year and did not think it was a serious until this week when it started paining very seriously," said Opati.
Kenya Golf Union (KGU) chairman, Parshu Hirani, was due to have a meeting with his committee to pick Opati's replacement. …
