As Uchumi Supermarkets shareholders troop to Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) in Nairobi next Thursday for their 30th annual general meeting uppermost in their minds will be to learn why the company has not been allowed back onto the Nairobi Stock Exchange.

Jonathan Ciano, the company's chief executive officer, has been insisting that it is only the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) that can provide the answer.
