BUSINESS was booming for local firms this Mother's Day as children of all ages ignored the tough economic climate and treated their mums.

Florists and restaurants were among the firms who saw a peak in profits as families snapped up bouquets and slap-up meals to say thank you to their mums on Sunday.

Business was blooming so much at Old Clee Florist, in Carr Lane, Grimsby, that the new shop sold out of flowers on Saturday.
