from BERNAMA, The Malaysian National News Agency MIRI, March 31 (Bernama) -- Known in the past as a rural constituency, Lambir has gradually grown since the 1990s and is now a vibrant suburb of Miri City.

Before the turn of the century, the old Miri-Bintulu Road was the only link with the outside world for Lambir residents.

Prior to its new status, little was known about Kampung Bakam, Kampung Siwa or Kampung Ra'an, a few coastal villages located on the coastal side of Lambir.

Penghulu Adam Bujang is among the local elders in the area who has witnessed how the place transformed to what it is today.
