A Thailand-Peru free-trade agreement (FTA) will create complementary benefits, particularly access to third markets as well as logistic hubs of each region.
As part of the deal, Peru is interested in using Thailand as its logistics hub to access other Asean countries.
Peru will also serve as a distribution centre for Thai goods throughout Latin America. Peru has already forged FTAs with the United States, Canada, Singapore and China.
An FTA with the European Union is pending parliamentary approval, which would help boost Thailand's exports.
