The government is not following the National Leadership Hierarchy guidelines while issuing diplomatic and official passports, opposition legislators said on Friday.

The MPs questioned the way the Ministry of Internal Affairs handles the issuance of the travel documents, accusing officials of lack of transparency on who it awards the official passports.

Debating on the House floor, Mr Elijah Okupa (FDC, Kasilo County) said their skepticism on the issue was sparked off after it was discovered that businessman Mike Ezra, who is currently jailed in Kenya, owns diplomatic travel documents yet he is not on the list of the individuals entitled …
