MILLIONS around the world will observe the one hour dedicated to earth by switching off lights tomorrow.

This symbolic gesture to create awareness about climate change and sustainability issues started in Sydney, Australia, in 2007.

But we must go beyond just celebrating Earth Hour for just one hour every year.

If we can mobilise ourselves across the globe to dedicate an hour a year for earth, we can do so daily for it to become a lifestyle and culture.

In Malaysia, we have a "syndrome" where an awareness campaign begins and ends with a launch.
