from ANTARA, The Indonesian National News Agency Bengkulu, March 21 (ANTARA) - Four lecturers of Bengkulu State University (Unib) survived in Japan's earthquake and tsunami areasdecided to staying in the country, Unib's spokesman said.

"They survived because none stays in the disaster zone and they have decided to go ahead with their post-graduate studies in Japan," Suharyanto said here Monday.

A tremendous earthquake, followed by a deadly tsunami, struck Japan on March 11, killing at least 5,000 people. As a result of the natural disaster, the country's nuclear power plant developed a leak.
