Road transport workers in the West African sub-region are a deprived lot because of their poor conditions of service, a study has revealed.

The study by the International Transport Federation (ITF) and the Trade Union Solidarity Centre of Finland (SASK) says the drivers are poorly paid, lack of rest periods, no holidays, no social protection, and safety health and environmental conditions are not the best.
