DURGAPUR, 20 MARCH: The Election Commission (EC) has asked Burdwan administration to transfer officer-in-charge of Baraboni police station, Mr Shankha Biswas, immediately as a criminal case is pending against him. The Trinamul Congress had also brought charges of political biasness against Mr Biswas. Mr Biswas, who was posted as O-C, Baraboni from Durgapur police station two months back, had allegedly hid the fact about a pending case against him during his posting. A former police constable, Mr Satyakam Maity, had filed a criminal defamation case against him at Durgapur ACJM Court in 2008 when Mr Biswas was posted as O-C, Durgapur.
