Minsk, 18 March: Former Belarusian presidential candidate Ales Mikhalevich, who is accused of organizing the mass disturbances [in central Minsk] on 19 December, has applied for political asylum in the Czech Republic.According to the mass media, Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg said this. [At 0114 gmt on 18 March, the Czech website Ceskenoviny.com quoted Schwarzenberg as saying this in the Pravo daily.]
