TICKETS for the London 2012 Olympic events went on sale yesterday - with travel agents in Derby inundated with calls.

Thomas Cook is the selected London 2012 partner selling package deals for Olympic events.

The branch in St Peter's Street said lines were busy as soon as they opened at 8am.

But there has been criticism of the high package prices, which range from GBP99 per person for the women's volleyball and one night in a Heathrow hotel, and up to GBP6,499 per person for three nights in a five-star …
