Philippines: Government steps up anti-women and child abuse campaign.

Section: General News - The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said Friday it has filed 64 women and child-abuse cases during the first two months of this year as part of the enforcement of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 and the Violence Against Women and Children Act of 2004.

Police Insp. Julieta Torio, head of the QCPD Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD), disclosed this during the Communication and News Exchange (CNEX) Forum on Friday at the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Conference Room in Quezon City.
