The Uganda National Examinations Board and the Ministry of Education yesterday released results for last year's Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education examinations (UACE) indicating a slight improvement in performance compared to the previous year. A total of 98.8 per cent of students, who were examined, will get certificates compared to the 98.6 per cent in 2009 representing a 0.2 per cent improvement.

In actual terms, the improvement means an additional 1,450 students of those who sat the exams qualify for admission to a tertiary institution. A total of 61,820 qualified for places in tertiary institutions …
