ANNET Negesa will try to beat Africa's best runners at the African cross country championships in Cape Town, South Africa today.

The high-profile event will help Uganda's latest promising talent gauge her self ahead of the World cross country championships in Spain this month.

The continental showpiece could see the Iganga-based athlete announce her arrival on the international front.

Last year, Negesa led Uganda's junior women team to a bronze medal position in the world cross country championships.
