FOREIGN Secretary Albert del Rosario has set out the three pillars of the countrys foreign policy: national security, economic diplomacy and the protection and promotion of the welfare of Filipinos abroad.

Del Rosario sought to define the thrust of his tenure as head of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) during the departments turnover rites with outgoing Foreign Secretary Alberto Romulo on Tuesday afternoon at the DFA offices in Pasay City.

The DFA press corps was not allowed to cover the event on orders of Del Rosario who explained that it was an internal matter.
