from BUSINESS LINE, February 28, 2011 Madurai, Feb 27 - The Railway Budget for 2011-12, presented by the Railway Minister, Ms Mamata Banerjee, is passenger-friendly and industry-benevolent, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has said.

The budget has addressed the concerns of people in the entire country and has not only spared passenger fares but also not tinkered with the freight rates and provided a shot in the arm for trade and industrial growth in southern Tamil Nadu, said Mr N. Jegatheesan, Chamber President, in a press release.
