One day after being released from prison for his involvement in the Ciketing incident, Murhali Barda is again the head of the Bekasi branch of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI).

"As of today (28 February 2011), FPI's Central Leadership Council has decided to reinstate Ustadz Murhali Barda as [branch] leader," FPI Central Leadership Council Secretary-General Ahmad Sobri Lubis said.
