IF YOU will recall, the market had always failed to end on a positive close until last week. It ended 6.20 points higher on Friday at 3,737.04. On the whole, though, the market actually fell 114.20 points, again.

But the markets performance last Fridaywhich was certainly not that extraordinaryjust broke the markets weekly losing character that had gone on for so long. This positive close could now be the simple turning point which I mentioned in my last column that may bring about a near-term market rebound that should justify the selective buy strategy.

Among those in the selective-buy list is Philex Mining Corp. (PX). The current market price of PX at P14.30 to P15.24 is still considered reasonable based on its exhibited growth and value …
