The African National Congress (ANC) yesterday undertook to improve municipalities' performance at the launch of its local government election manifesto, which was panned as being long on promises but short on plans to deal with the bottlenecks that have caused poor service delivery.

The manifesto was unveiled by President Jacob Zuma in Rustenburg yesterday as the ANC gears up to face voters in the elections, expected to be held in May.
