All groups and schools of thought in Bahrain are being invited to be part of the National Unity Gathering.

Although the majority of its membership is Sunni, the group has a clear message to all Bahrainis to unite as one nation, said founding member and Al Asala Bloc MP Shaikh Adel Abdulrahman Al Ma'awada.

"We are sending a clear message that we want national unity, we don't want any divisions, we are one nation," he told the GDN.

"We all have demands but we must go for them peacefully and not take away the freedom that we have.
