from BUSINESS LINE, February 24, 2011 New Delhi, Feb. 23 - Idea Cellular, which is facing a Rs 300-crore penalty for allegedly violating merger and acquisition norms, has been given unfair treatment by the Department of Telecom, according to the Cellular Operators Association of India.
The industry body said that the mobile operator had approached the DoT for surrendering the 6 overlapping licences in 2008 but the department did not take a decision.
