Commercial broadcasters asked to contribute a daily 'Community Minute' as part of David Cameron's social initiative.

As part of David Cameron's Big Society initiative, the Government is asking the commercial terrestrial TV broadcasters to provide a daily 'Community Minute' of editorial airtime in which it would run messages encouraging people to get involved with local social projects.

Although the Government would not have to pay for the airtime in the 'Community Minute', as it would not run in commercial airtime, it is offering to pay for the production of the content.
