Veteran diplomat and Speaker of Parliament Theo-Ben Gurirab says Namibia's relationship with Libya will remain the same despite the violent reprisals against pro-democracy protesters there over the weekend.

Gurirab, who is also the president of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), said existing bilateral relationships are between nations, and not governments.
