Big Fat Gypsy Weddings has been the breakout television hit of the year so far as well as one of the most controversial. Now Channel 4 plans to build on the success of the documentary series with a series of spin-off shows.
Discussions are under way at Channel 4's Horseferry Road headquarters about other programme ideas centred on Britain's Gypsy and Traveller communities following the success of the recent series, which attracted more than 8 million viewers -- the broadcaster's biggest audience since Big Brother nearly four years ago.
