Homeboyz were finally promoted to the Kenya Cup after they beat Kenya Harlequin II 25-5 in the finals of the Eric Shirley Shield at Rugby Football Union of East Africa ground on a decisive day of rugby on Saturday.

Within two hours of Homeboyz's victory, Kenya Harlequin were celebrating their own after running over boastful Nakuru 36-0 at the same venue to retain their Kenya Cup trophy with two games to spare.

Denied promotion

Away from club rugby, Kenya "A" came from 17-15 down at half time to beat visiting Australian minor league side Warringah Rats 32-22 at RFUEA grounds in the last match of the day.
