Last week Gov. Andrew Cuomo proposed a budget that cut $3.7 billion, with huge cuts to education and Medicaid, and mergers and consolidations in criminal justice. The proposed overall budget is $132.9 billion.

The Legal Action Center released a preliminary analysis of how the proposed budget would affect substance abuse, criminal justice, and HIV/AIDs.

OASAS

The proposed budget recommends $671 for OASAS ($432 million in state operating funds, and $239 million in other funds). This is a decrease of $46 million, or 6.4 percent.
