LA TRINIDAD, BenguetThe Cordilleras reputation as a marijuana growing region has become too shameful, prompting its governors to launch investigations and reviews of drug cases.

Governors hope to get a better insight of why illegal drug cases dont prosper in court, said Kalinga Gov. Jocel Baac, head of the Cordillera Regional Development Council (RDC).

Governors agreed at the first session this year of the Cordillera Peace and Order Council (POC) to conduct a deeper study on drug cases in the region.

The council was led by Benguet Gov. Nestor Fongwan. Governors Eustaquio Bersamin of Abra and Eugene Balitang of Ifugao attended the session.
