THE Early Years unit of St Matthias and Dr Bell's Primary School in Fishponds has been awarded the Bristol Standard by Bristol City Council for the education and care it provides to children from birth to five years old.

The Bristol Standard is a self-evaluation framework to help individual schools and nurseries improve on their previous best. It involves working together on developments to improve outcomes for all children and families and takes a year to complete.
