THE COURT of Appeals (CA) has ordered the dismissal of murder charges filed against Senator Panfilo M. Lacson, saying the primary witness in the crime cannot be relied upon.
In an 80-page decision promulgated and released late yesterday, the appellate court's Special Sixth Division nullified two orders of the Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 18 issuing warrants of arrest for Mr. Lacson after it found probable cause to name him as suspect in the murder of publicist Salvador "Bubby" P. Dacer and his driver, Emmanuel Corbito, in November 2000.
